Obertraun is a small village on the Hallstättersee and is home to the Krippenstein,which stands 2100m high, with 30 km of off-piste skiing it is one of Europes finest.  From the high-up rocky ridges down to the forests the varied outdoor terrain offers ideal conditions including a vertical drop of 1.500 m. This terrain excites all international freeriders and thrill-seekers looking for freedom beyond all limits. There is an 11 km downhill run, making it one of the longest in Europe.  At the top there are 4kms of red run & 7kms of blue run. All this is just a 5 min car ride away or 10 mins on the free ski-bus,with pick up points through out the village  Krippenstein.at

The Dachstein-West ski area runs from Gosau to St Martin and is 140 km of fun packed skiing. It is a fantastic resort with 70 modern lifts. There are black, red and blue runs with the benefit of ski school for group or private tuition.  For those with younger children, there is a Kindergarten to entertain the little one's while you enjoy the skiing. There are plenty of cosy wooden huts with tradional Austrian food and drink available all day long.
