How to find us

Obertraun is situated on the south eastern shore of Lake Hallstatt. It is the ideal starting point for numerous activities, both in summer and winter, including paragliding, rambling, cycling, walking and skiing. It is an unspoilt summer holiday destination, making it the ideal base for touring the culture of the local area or exploring the many footpaths leading along the lake, rivers and mountains. The world famous village of Hallstatt is only four kilometres away and the imperial town of Bad Ischl is also close by.

From Wien (Vienna) follow the A1 Autobahn in the direction of Linz/Salzburg. Exit the A1 in the direction of Gmunden. Follow the Salzkammergutbundesstrasse towards Bad Ischl, passing Altmunster, Traunkirchen and Ebensee.

Follow the 145 in the direction of Bad Goisern and Hallstatt until you find a right turn signposted 166 OBERTRAUN, Hallstatt. Continue along this road until you come to the left turn in the direction of OBERTRAUN, Hallstatt. Follow this road, pass through the tunnel on the outskirts of Hallstatt, follow the road into OBERTRAUN. Pass over the level crossing, taking the left turn at the village T junction. Follow the road through the village until you see the sign pointing to the right for Fischergasse. Take this right turn, then the next left. We are the third house on the left in this road.

From Salzburg follow the A1 Autobahn in the direction of Wien (Vienna). Exit the A1 at the THALGAU. At the end of the slip road, turn right and follow the road until you arrive at a roundabout. Follow the 158 in the direction of Bad Ischl, St Gilgen, St Wolfgang. Continue along this road until you pass through a tunnel on the outskirts of Bad Ischl. Take the second right after the tunnel (they are quite close together) onto the 145  in the direction of Liezen and Bad Goisern, turning right at the top of the slip road.

Follow the 145 in the direction of Bad Goisern and Hallstatt until you find a right turn signposted 166 OBERTRAUN, Hallstatt. Continue along this road until you come to the left turn in the direction of OBERTRAUN, Hallstatt. Follow this road, pass through the tunnel on the outskirts of Hallstatt, follow the road into OBERTRAUN. Pass over the level crossing, taking the left turn at the village T junction. Follow the road through the village until you see the sign pointing to the right for Fischergasse. Take this right turn, then the next left. We are the third house on the left in this road, just behind the yellow house.
